APPROACH.
Guerrera Leadership is dedicated to mentoring and guiding individuals by providing them with both a junior mentor and an adult role model. Our mentees will have the opportunity to interact with one another and learn valuable lessons grounded in our three core values: leadership, community service, and citizenship.
WHAT DOES THE MENTORSHIP INCLUDE ?
Designated Mentor
Our mentors play a crucial role in supporting our mentees by regularly checking in and offering guidance on various aspects of their lives. Whether it's addressing academic concerns, providing advice on school-related matters, or simply being a sounding board for questions, our mentors are committed to helping each mentee navigate their journey.
Community Service & Hours
We encourage giving back and making a difference, fostering a spirit of generosity and compassion among our participants. Our mentees will engage with various community organizations, actively contributing to their efforts. Additionally, junior mentees can earn community service hours by participating in these events.
Support Educational Journey
At Guerrera Leadership, we are committed to supporting our mentees throughout their academic journey, from elementary to middle school. Our goal is to guide them along the way and provide resources to accelerate their college pathways. We offer information on programs like concurrent enrollment, which allows students to start taking college courses while still in middle school, giving them a head start on their higher education.
Junior Mentor
Our junior mentors, who have been mentees themselves, offer a unique perspective in their roles. Like our adult mentors, they provide support to new mentees, but with the added benefit of understanding their day-to-day experiences as peers. They are dedicated to guiding each mentee through their journey with empathy and insight.
Peer Group Activities
At Guerrera Leadership, we provide our mentees with valuable opportunities to engage with their peers throughout the year at various events. These interactions are essential for fostering social development and peer connections.
Leadership Growth
Throughout the mentorship program, we will organize group activities aimed at teaching the girls leadership skills. Once they become junior mentors, they will take on the responsibility of leading and helping to organize many of these activities. Additionally, we will feature speeches from women leaders to inspire them, and the program will culminate in an annual leadership convention.
